Frequently Asked Questions
What types of food do you have in the restaurant and lounge?
We take pride in being much more than fun escape rooms that will challenge and entertain you. Since our opening in October 2017, it’s been our goal to be one of the best restaurants in downtown Denver. We do that by featuring gourmet casual cuisine at affordable prices. We also offer a full bar, plus hand-crafted theme cocktails that match each of our escape games!
Our menu caters to meat-eaters, vegetarians and vegans alike with a variety of lunch and dinner options. And many of our menu items feature gourmet bakery items from Hinmans, a Denver bakery known for their quality.
For meat lovers, we offer delicious beef, ham and chicken options that are a cut above. These include a bacon cheeseburger and one of our most popular dishes, a French Dip sandwich featuring roasted choice ribeye and caramelized onions. We also have a meat board that includes Braunschweiger, cured meats and a rotating selection of sausage and many other specialties.
Omnivores and vegetarians alike will love our amazing cheese dishes, such as gourmet cheese curds with buttermilk dressing; a cheese board with a variety of gourmet offerings that can be served with or without meat; and our house specialty, Raclette a Fromage, a unique dining experience that layers hot melted cheese over vegetables or meat, served with fingerling potatoes.
We also offer options that anyone, including vegans, will love; such as delicious salads and our amazing French fries. (Please ask that the fries be served without sauce if you’re vegan.)
If you want dessert after your meal or escape room game, we have sweet specialties you’ll really love. See our dessert menu for more information.
We also have the best happy hour in Denver. Join us Tuesday through Friday from 3-6 p.m. when we offer some of our guests’ favorite dishes from our regular menu at reduced prices and combine them with wine and beer specials.
Can you host large groups and private events?
Absolutely! We love to cater to large groups. We can tailor a unique event for your needs, whether it be for corporate parties or team-building; holiday and birthday parties; special events, networking meetings, and any other type of get-together you can think of.
Our steampunk-inspired décor, amazing cuisine and escape rooms make us more than just an ordinary downtown Denver lounge and restaurant. We’re here to help you host an event that your guests will always remember.
In addition to our fully stocked bar, we offer an array of set menus, which include family-style, plated service, platters, appetizers, kids meals, attended stations, buffets and more.

Is it okay to bring babies? What about children's birthday parties or school field trips?
It’s fine to bring a baby, as long as an adult is willing to take the child out if he’s hindering game play or interfering with the experience of other players in the room.
Birthday parties, field trips and all other types of parties or private events are welcome! We have a private room that holds approximately 16-20 guests for seated dining, although there’s plenty of additional room if formal seating for food service isn’t required.
Visit our Private Events page to learn more about how we can help you create a memorable party. Or you can just call us at 303-653-9182 or click on our Book an Event form to request information from one of our party specialists.
Please note that anyone under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a paying adult, whether playing an escape room game or at a private event.
Do you offer discounts for the escape rooms or for dining and drinks?
Are food or alcohol allowed in the rooms?
May we leave the room during a live escape game?
Your escape room experience will be much more enjoyable if you stay until you and your team have escaped. A player can always leave if necessary though.
When should we arrive for our game?
It’s very important that you arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled time, because our escape games start on time and you won’t be allowed to enter once the game starts.
If you would like to have a drink or appetizer in our attached restaurant and bar before the game begins, please allow extra time.
Is there a parking lot or public transportation?
Yes, there is a parking lot at the corner of California Street and 22nd Street. Additionally, there is street parking on both California Street and 22nd.
We are also two blocks from the light rail stop at 20th Street and Welton.
What is your cancellation/rescheduling policy?
We regret that tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded after purchase. We may be able to change your game to an alternative slot or provide credit for a future game. Cancellations or requests for game/time changes made within 72 hours of your scheduled appointment will be subject to a 20% service fee.
Will we play with other groups of people?
That’s completely up to you! You can play alone by booking the entire room, or you can pair up with other guests and play together. Our opinion is that it is more fun to play with others and it is a great way to meet new friends.
What is the minimum and maximum age?
There is no minimum or maximum age for our game rooms. However, children under the age of 10 will have a difficult time understanding the games. Anyone under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a paying adult.
What is the minimum and maximum number of people per escape room?
There’s no minimum capacity, but having two or more players tends to make the game more fun. The ideal number of players is six to eight, though we can host as many as 10.
How much does it cost per person?
Monday through Thursday: $30 per person
Friday through Sunday: $34 per person
I've never done this and I'm nervous. Is it scary? What happens if we don't solve the clues and can't get out? Is there any physical contact?
Not to worry! There’s no physical contact, and it’s not scary. The Game Master will be give the group clues as needed to keep the game moving. Participants are monitored during the entire game and will have two-way communication with the control room. If someone gets nervous or scared they can always leave the room or call for an employee to come in and assist them. If you don’t solve the clues or get out in time, nothing happens—you’ll just need to try again!
What do we do if we need help during the game?
A personal Game Master will be assigned to your group to guide you through your experience. If you’re really stuck, you may ask them for a hint!
Are any skills needed to play?
No special skills or knowledge are required to play Escapology games, which are all in English. Good communication skills are all you need.
How long will the game last?
Your puzzle room experience will take about a little over an hour. The game itself can last up to 60 minutes, bookended by a video briefing before and a photo after.
Are animals or pets allowed in the escape rooms?
Sorry, but animals aren’t allowed in the rooms.
Are phones allowed in the escape rooms?
Due to our no internet or photos policy, the use of phones are not allowed in the individual game rooms. However, we do have a secure spot in the room where you can place phones and other personal belongings while playing.
